All Union students have the opportunity to enroll in AmeriCorps, a national service program that encourages members to take action and find solutions to address community needs through direct service and training. Member can serve in three types of terms:
Half-Term: 900 hours of service over a 2 year period
Quarter-Term: 450 hours of service over a 1 year period
Minimum Time: 300 hours of service over a 1 year period
All AmeriCorps members that complete their term of service in the given time period are eligible for an education award, determined by the type of term completed. This education award may be applied to qualified student loans or future higher education expenses. Interested students must complete the AmeriCorps orientation.
