Bring out your competitive spirit to help our neighbors in need! Kentucky Harvest Southeast partners with our local colleges to help bring meals home to those who need it most!
The Pursuit of the Golden can is Union College's annual food drive benefiting our local USDA approved food pantry within Barbourville. The Union College campus brings together the best of our community spirit to help feed those less fortunate while adding a competitive twist to the collection.
Competing with neighboring colleges such as the University of the Cumberlands and Eastern Kentucky University, we battle pound for pound of food collected to bring home the Golden Can trophy which is awarded to the school that brings in the most food for the holiday season.
Union remains undefeated the past two years collecting 4,795 lbs of food in 2011 and over 10,000 lbs of food in 2012. Help us keep the winning tradition alive by donating your food, money, or time to this worthy cause.
The Pursuit of the Golden Can Food Drive is a month long endeavor spanning from October 15th - November 15th. We encourage all to donate what they can when they can.
