Biblical studies, Greek languague and literature (ancient), religion and philosophy in the Greco-Roman world, philosophy of language (Wittgenstein), rhetoric, and world religions.
Dr. Sisson enjoys golf, bicycling, and other outdoor activities.
Dr. Sisson has taught at Union at for sixteen years. He currently teaches courses in religious studies, humanities, and ancient Greek. Some of his religious studies courses crosslist with courses in history and philosophy. He has published several articles on topics related to religion and philosophy in the Greco-Roman world.
In addition to his teaching and administrative duties at Union, Dr. Sisson is chair of the Apocrypha and Cognate Literature section in the Midwest Region of the Society of Biblical Literature. He also teaches courses in Hebrew Bible and New Testament in the Appalachian Local Pastors School, a course of study program of the United Methodist Church.
