Annual Fund Gifts are key to Union’s success. The Annual Fund is part of a continuing effort to maintain our high academic standards and provide physical improvements in the campus while making a Union College education affordable to all students. Your contributions help narrow the gap between actual operating costs and what students pay in tuition. Your gift can be used immediately and because it is unrestricted, applied where it will have the greatest impact. A contribution to the Annual Fund is truly a gift to the students of today and tomorrow.
Appreciate Stocks can be donated to Union College, and you can take an income tax deduction equal to the total market value on the date of the gift, regardless of the purchase price. Tax ID number- 61-0461768
Bequests allow you to bequeath a percentage of your estate, a specific amount of money or a material item to Union College through a Last Will and Testament.
Endowed scholarships allow you to "give a gift that keeps on giving" by establishing an endowed scholarship at Union College. The college will assist you in setting up the guidelines by which the scholarship funds will be awarded. (gifts of $10,000 +)
Insurance poliices naming Union College as owner and beneficiary allow Union College to receive the proceeds upon the death of the insured.
With matching gifts you can sometimes double or even triple your gift!
Many employers sponsor matching gift programs and will match charitable contributions made by their employees. To find out if your company has a matching gift policy, please contact your employer. The impact of your gift may be doubled or possibly tripled! Some companies match gifts made by retirees and/or spouses too.
Outright gifts can be used immediately by Union College in support of restricted or unrestricted needs. These gifts may take many forms, including time, talent, cash, stocks, securities, real estate, and personal property.
UNRESTRICTED ANNUAL SCHOLARSHIPS
Unrestricted annual scholarships are to be used immediately for student financial assistance. This is the most appropriate way to assist current students if your intention is to personally distribute scholarship funds on an annual basis. If that is your preference, Union will allocate all of the current contribution to worthy students for a scholarship or achievement award in the year received.
Union Colleged Advancement staff will work with you and your financial advisor in identifying ways you can leave a future gift to Union through you estate planning, will or a bequest. For more information on charitable giving, contact Jessica Terry Bergman at 606.546.1218 or email@example.com for more information.
