Service Learning

How big is service at Union?  Union College students, faculty and staff contribute a yearly average of 15,000 hours to community service. It's pretty much a given that you, too, will be involved in volunteering your time. You’ll have opportunities to work with all age groups in a wide variety of settings and situations. You’ll learn more about who you are, what’s important to you and what you’re capable of achieving.

Here’s how it works: the Center for Civic Engagement—the central community service organization—matches students with volunteer and learning opportunities, and matches the local community with quality student volunteers to fill its needs. Civic Engagement programs do consist of an application/acceptance process. But you don’t have to be an selected member of the program just to volunteer your time. There are plenty of opportunities for everyone. Visit the Center for Civic Engagement to learn more.
